Graduation Day Outfit (plus an extra SPECIAL surprise!)

It’s been quite a few days since my last post.  Sorry, I had a very busy weekend GETTING ENGAGED!!!!

Ahhhhh! My boyfriend (now Fiance) surprised me with a very selfless and charming proposal on his graduation day!  If you wanna read more about the proposal check out my other blog http://lovinglongdistance.blogspot.com. It’s a great story, I promise!

So, I was supposed to post a graduation outfit poll last Friday, but I asked my fiance to help take pics and he actually picked his favorite outfit, so I just went with his choice.  I was leaning toward this dress anyway, so he made it easy for me.  It is a mandarin orange and white Bisou Bisou dress I picked up at JC Penney for Easter for about $30.00 or so, but never wore.   I scoured the internet trying to find the dress so I could link it here, but it has disappeared off the face of the earth.  I did see the dress was still available at the JC Penney in Carson a few weeks ago, but it may not be available anymore.  My other dress option was a kind of sea green color, and I planned on wearing my J. Lo bronze sandals seen here if I’d gone with that choice, but I knew I’d need to buy new shoes to wear with the orange and white dress because my nude pumps need to go to the shop.  So off to the mall the fiance (then boyfriend) and I went to hunt for a pair of nude or white shoes.  Disclaimer: I hate all white shoes.  They are always on the brink of tacky, imo.  There are some cute ones out there, but they are few and far between, and they CANNOT have a white heel! I found these really cute Ivory peep-toe Jessica Simpson “Josette” pumps at Dillard’s for $59.99. Not bad, huh?  They are actually more of a pearl color which had the same affect as a metallic or nude, so they didn’t clash with the white in the dress. Last but not least, I snagged a super cute straw “Beach St.” handbag with white leather (faux) pockets and straps from Bakers for $49.99.  As with the shoes, I am just not a fan of white purses, but the straw with white accents is totally doable for me.  I thought the look pulled together quite nicely.
