My Name Necklace!
Hi Lovelies!! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I know I did! Fab is home and my sister-in-law is in town so we’ve just been having a great time. I kinda took an unannounced blogging break for the holiday weekend — no Home Office Style, no Style Me Friday…just sporadic tweets and Facebook updates. LOL. I figured you guys knew the deal. I am sure you guys have been pretty busy, too. I haven’t taken any outfit pics at all, but I wanted to do a really quick post to share my new necklace that the wonderful people at My Name Necklace sent over…I am pretty excited about it. It actually arrived Wednesday, but I’ve been so busy that I didn’t get around to opening it until yesterday. I’ve been wanting a nameplate necklace and a pair of bamboo “Eboni” earrings since I was in the 6th grade…long before Carrie popularized them on Sex and the City. To me, they’ve always been an around-the-way-girl style statement LOL {queue LL Cool J here}. Anyway, I just think it’s the perfect everyday necklace…so perfect with my gigantic hoop earrings
This particular necklace is the Sterling Silver “Carrie” Style Name Necklace, and it is actually on sale for $33.95. Great price, right? This is totally a great gift item, too. If you want to up the ante a little bit, this style of necklace is also available in 14k yellow or white gold for $129 – $150 depending on the type of chain you choose, or 18k gold plated silver for $50 if you want gold but prefer to keep the price under $100. I actually wear silver much more than gold, so the sterling silver is better for me as an every day piece of jewelry…and it just happens to be the least expensive of the bunch!

Now, I personally prefer the nameplate style necklace, but they also carry the really popular monogram necklace in Sterling Silver for only $50, as well as a selection of bracelets, anklets and other personalized goodies too. It’s definitely worth just checking out their website to see what strikes your fancy. Now, if we can just convince them to make me some bamboo earrings, I’d be a happy camper!
So, like I said before, I think this is a GREAT gift idea. Personalized stuff is always nice. On that note, if you are considering something like this for holiday gifts, remember your necklace is custom and made to order – it takes about 14 – 18 days for your necklace to be made and delivered so you’ll want to order soon so you can take advantage of the FREE standard shipping and get it before Christmas. But, if you’re on the late bus (like I usually am), you can also opt for Express shipping, which is actually reasonable at $9.95 to the US and UK. Express shipping is about 8 days.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to the folks at My Name Necklace for sending over this lovely necklace. I love it…and I am sure you guys will be seeing it quite a bit here. You guys know how I am when I love a piece of jewelry. I wear it like every day for weeks. LOL.
p.s. Yes, my hair is straight…more on that to come.
p.p.s. Regular outfit posts will resume on Tuesday, and the Home Office Style challenge is being extended. More to come.

I am glad that you had a great Thanksgiving break! I love the necklace. I was always afraid to get one because it always came in gold and looked a bit urbanesque. I wear mostly silver, as well, so that would be great for me!
How cool is that??!! I've wanted a name necklace forever!! Like back in the day where they charged per letter and of course I have the longest name in the world! LOL Definitely have to check them out…
