Hey lovely people! How was your weekend? Mine was busy…but fun…and exciting! (I’m teasing again!) LOL
Anyway, a couple weeks ago, I was invited to visit the Blogger’s Suite at AmericasMart Atlanta for the Atlanta Apparel Market. What’s AmericasMart, you ask? Only the coolest place, ever! It is the place where all the buyers go to buy all the stuff that we all buy later from our favorite stores! AmericasMart is a HUGE campus of many buildings, one of which houses hundreds of showrooms from some of your favorite brands. Some of the showrooms are permanent, and some are temporary…popping up when exhibits like the Atlanta Apparel Market are open.
So many of my favorite brands were exhibiting while I was there — TOMS, J Brand, Michael Kors, Dolce Vita, Splendid, Free People…and even your high end brands like Dolce & Gabbana and Badgley Mischka. Of course, they were exhibiting spring fashions, so it was REALLY exciting to see what’s on the horizon in the next month. I wasn’t able to take pictures in all the showrooms, but the nice ladies at TOMS let me snap some shots!
In addition to visiting the showrooms, you also get the opportunity to see some of the collections on the runway! While I was there, I caught the Esley Collection show. They showed a great selection of fun dresses and separates for spring/summer that are sure to pop up in my local Atlanta boutiques very soon! It is so funny, because now I can visit the Look Book on the Esley website and see some of the exact pieces from the runway. It was kinda cool to get a first look!
Finally, and most importantly, I got to S-H-O-P kinda like a buyer while I was there! Yippee!!! Each floor inside the showroom building houses a different category of goodies (contemporary apparel, formal apparel, children’s apparel, etc) AND there is one floor that houses a little bit of everything, and it’s all cash & carry! I picked up a bunch of FUN accessories including this necklace & this watch for well below retail. I don’t have a resale license obviously, so I couldn’t get the full buyer discount, but I still got a great price on everything I bought. It was heaven!
So, for all my buddies out there who own boutiques (I have the honor of knowing several of you!), if you haven’t had a chance to visit “the market” at AmericasMart in Atlanta, you should definitely check them out. You can find the Atlanta Apparel Market schedule here! (After spending a day at AmericasMart, I’m feeling like I missed my calling to be a buyer! LOL!!!)
