Print Mixing, Part II: Leopard + Stripes

Now that you’ve mastered print mixing with basic colors and classic prints, are you ready to take things to the next level?  Why not add a little color…and a little leopard (two of my favorite things!).  Here’s why it works!

  • Although my prints don’t share a common color, yellow and blue are both primary colors so they’ll always complement each other quite well.
  • The ivory stripes and accessories coupled with tan shoes are all neutrals, so they completely ground the colors and prints.
  • Again, my prints are different in scale — wide stripes, and small leopard spots.

So, I’m trying to write this blog post, but I can’t focus because I recently started watching Gossip Girl from the very beginning on Netflix.  (I know, I know…I am always super late on shows. LOL.) Anyway, I am on season 2, episode 5…and it’s a complete distraction from blogging right now, so I give up.  Good night!

Thanks for stopping by!!! XOXO.

I love the pattern mixing you have going on here. I would probably be a little afraid of a combination like this but I haven’t really gotten the hang of mixing and matching.
Hey, are these new leopard jeans?? You should get that other Target pair and start a collection of colors. :)

I bought that sweater in a small and though it was awful. Who knew that if I went a size up, it would have had the dolman look that you have. I'll know for next time. I love the stripe/leopard combo.

No need for the explanation for this look…it looks perfect and makes perfect sense. Sometimes things just work.

I tried to watch Gossip Girls on Netflix and I guess I was too distracted to enjoy it. I will give it another try during Spring Break but FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS….!!!!! Girl Get you some of that!

That show is so addictive even though I'm six years late on it! Thank goodness for Netflix!
