Was this week super long for anyone else? TGIF is an understatement right now. LOL! I’m in need of a mid-day nap…and some good Mexican food…and a margarita. (maybe I’m just missing Cali?)
Anyway, this week’s Style Me Friday is long overdue. My girl Koco over at Cheap, Chic, and Curvy submitted this Beyonce look way back in November. I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to recreate it. It’s a no-brainer right?! I didn’t really have to make a lot of changes this time around. I just swapped out Bey’s booties for my flat OTK boots. I could have worn my lace-up Sam Edelman’s, but these are just so dang comfy, and believe it or not I just wasn’t in the mood for heels. (it happens sometime!) I added some gold accessories and a vintage Dooney (passed down from my Grandma!), and this look is complete.

A quick note about my hair — I tried a Wash ‘n Go this weekend with a diffuser, which was my go-to back in my gel-worshipdays. FAIL. I tried it again on Tuesday, but allowed it to air dry. It was a little better, but still not ideal. I flat-twisted my completely dried wash ‘n go on Wednesday, and slept on it. Improvement. I dry twisted it again, and added flexi-rods to the ends, rolling them all the way to the nape of my neck. What you see here is the result. Not bad. It’s not quite as flat as my usual flat twist-out. As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, I love my bantu knots, but they are a lot of work, and sometimes I just need something quick, so I am experimenting again. The dry flat twist-out seems to give me a little more volume than the wet flat-twistout…which is to be expected, but it is also more frizzy. I’ll keep messing with it. My hair is still not ready for wash ‘n go styling…not until I am willing to chop of these ends. I’ve been cutting them little by little, but they are still too straight for my liking, and I’ve got a lot more cutting to do. I don’t see a big 3 – 6 inch chop in my future, so I’ll continue finding new ways to set my hair in the meantime. *sigh*
