Weekend Digs: Tweed & Stripes

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone’s week is off to a great start.  I’m a tad bit tired, myself.  Losing an hour really makes a difference, doesn’t it? Sheesh, it’s only 60 minutes by try telling my biological clock that.  I guess it’s all worth it for all that extra sunlight at the end of the day.

Saturday, I had to run a few errands… a trip to UPS (which was closed by the time I got there (grr!), a couple of returns at Target and Burlington Coat Factory, and the grocery store.  I was going for comfy chic, and I have been dying to wear this Kasper tweed jacket that I bought at Goodwill for $5.  Isn’t it cute? I love the color and the cut, and you really can’t ever have too many classic tweed jackets.  They always look really awesome juxtaposed with not-so-classic pieces…like my tattered jeans.  I’m telling you guys, I got so many compliments on this jacket while I was out Saturday.  My father-in-law even mentioned that he liked it.  It always makes me feel proud when one of my thrifted pieces gets a lot of love! :)

(btw, I’m not a fan of these pictures at all.  I was having a swollen face day.  Please note the double chin in nearly all photos. Ugh! What is that, really? Grr.  I fought the urge to crop my face out of all the pictures because I really liked the outfit. LOL!  And, for some reason, the quality of the pictures looks kinda bad…kinda fuzzy? I think my lens needs cleaning!)

Vintage Kasper Tweed JacketKasper Tweed JacketNew York and Company Striped Ballet FlatsAs much as I love wearing heels, I am slowing getting more accustomed to wearing flats for these all-day errand excursions (*sigh* I know, I know…it’s a sad day!).  I bought these flats last weekend when I stopped into New York & Company to get my $10 pants.  I fell in love with the stripes and the the navy cap-toe (is it still a cap-toe when the shoes are peep-toe? LOL).  They were on sale for $11…obviously, I couldn’t leave them behind.

Speaking of those $10 pants, I know my girl Cheapalicious said she didn’t get a coupon in her copy of Glamour and one other person left a comment asking what page the coupon was on.  Mine was on page 48.  There is a two page New York & Company ad on that page and the coupon is in between these pages.  I am sorry if your issue didn’t have this coupon.  I didn’t mean to misinform you guys.  I have always been under the impression that all printed issues were exactly the same, but I suppose I could be wrong! Maybe you can send Glamour a tweet or hit them up on Facebook to confirm?

Thanks for stopping by! XOXO.

Perfect mix of dressy and casual. I love some tweed do this blazer is fab and the price is even better. It kind of looks like a blazer I found in the thrift store last year that now lives as a vest after I cut off the sleeves.
Those shoes are too adorable!! I rarely go into NY&Co., but you have me thinking that maybe I should now.

Very cute!! Love the fit of the jeans!! Isn't it crazy how when you wear flats, you want to stand on your toes as if you're wearing heels?!?! I do that all the time. I don't do it on purpose, it just happens. lol!

Not trying to be funny at all, but I see tops like this in the Thrift store all the time and I always thought they were cute, I just got an "old lady" vibe and never pipcked one up. I also had NO CLUE as to how to rock it without it looking too mature for my age. You have definitley done a great job at styling this blazer/top and the next time I see one, I'm snatching it up! Thanks Eb!

I love this entire look! That jacket is too cute. I love the flats too. The 1 hour time change had me feeling so sluggish on Sunday. I think I'm starting to get into the swing of things though.

  14. I absolutely love the jacket and the brooch is a perfect touch! Those flats are definitely Ah-Mazing! I am learning to wear flats on those days I know I will be running around. You know we have to let our feet rest a little so that way we can rock those heels later in life. ;)
