Nuetral Know-How: Khaki + Violet

Here we are at Neutral Know-How outfit #11 — Khaki + Violet.  I mentioned last week that khaki was my least favorite neutral, but you guys seem to think that it is a good color for me. Go figure! Still, this is the color that confounded me the most in terms of creating outfits…mostly because I just don’t have much khaki in my wardrobe.  I found this blazer, which I bought at Goodwill at some point last year, nestled in between the white blazers and the black blazers.  I’m not 100% sold on it actually being khaki, but I asked Fab, and he said it was…so I went with it.   At the very least, it’s in the khaki family. :)

I’m kinda in love with these shoes, y’all!  She is just in from Sole Society, and they are truly just a super basic nude sandal (sorry, she’s sold out now!).  I tossed my old favorite nude sandal before moving to Atlanta because it was TO’ UP from the FLO’ UP and hanging on for dear life.  With over 135 pairs of shoes, that really is a damn shame, but you know how it is when you find something you love.  You just wanna hang on.  Anyway, since then I’ve just lived without nude sandals, though I am not sure how.  I think both a nude sandal and a nude pump are absolutely essential to any woman’s wardrobe.  I guess I’ve been getting by on the nude pump (of which I have three pairs).  The thing is when I’m shoe shopping, I am always drawn to the sparkly, bright, floral, leopard…anything but the basics, so I kept passing on what I knew I needed.  But, with spring in full swing and summer on the horizon, I knew I needed to get my life together, and I’d been eying these for a while.  I happen to know that light taupe is my perfect nude, and I loved the simple style of this shoe.  The lack of a platform makes this shoe versatile, elegant, and timeless.   And of course, now that I have them, I can’t believe I went so long without a nude sandal.

  2. Perfect!! The tan blazer just let’s those fabulous purple jeans grab the spotlight and I love that bun!!
I have some “nude” platforms that I love and totally agree it’s a wardrobe essential. I’ve been on the hunt for a simple, closed-toe nude pump, but haven’t been lucky enough to find it yet.

Those pants are UH-MAZING. Where did you get them?! I saw your link for a pair of Asos pants that are similar but they don't even compare to the the brilliance of this color. Where are they actually from b/c I NEEEEEEEED them!

OMG! I have to have that color jeans. What brand are they?? I actually tore those Neutral Know-How sheets out of the magazine, laminated them and hung them in my closet for reference. It is so nice to see you put your own outfits together….you've inspired me! Nice job :)
