I know, I know…the events are never ending. Lol! But I was SUPER excited about this one because it was hosted my friend Trina a.k.a. The Baby Shopaholic, and let’s face it…hosting an event at Neiman Marcus is just a big deal. Yay! Go Trina! I am so proud of her because I’ve watched her blog grow right in front of my eyes over the last year…and she’s only at the beginning of her journey.
The event was a Spring Trends presentation with Neiman’s in-store stylist, Dave. I didn’t know this, but Atlanta’s Buckhead Neiman Marcus is one of only five lucky stores to have a stylist on location.
Dave walked us through the top trends for spring — pink, yellow (the new nuetral), neon, colored pants, prints, and silver shoes…while showcasing pieces from Neiman’s relatively affordable CUSP collection, which features brands like Rachel Zoe, Elizabeth and James, Haute Hippie and more at price points from $100 – $400….and just for fun he trew in some super LUXE accessories from our favorite pricey luxury brands like Tom Ford, Chanel, Prada, and Louboutin.
The idea behind the presentation was to demonstrate that you don’t have to have an unlimited budget to shop at Neiman Marcus. It is one of Trina’s FAVORITE spots to shop, and she is always proud to show off her luxury buys that she found for under$100. Not only does she shop their CUSP (contemporary line), but she also waits for things to go on sale and shops those clearance racks. Trina and Dave did a great job demonstrating that Neiman Marcus really does have something for every body and every budget! For me personally, I think the take home lesson was shopping quality over quantity. I’ll be the first to admit that I just enjoy the act of shopping, so I’ll easily drop $200 on a BUNCH of small inexpensive stuff so I can extend my shopping dollars…whereas I could take that $200 and spend it on one or two quality pieces at Neiman Marcus (or maybe even three pieces if I hit up those sale racks!). There are arguments for shopping both ways, and I guess my opinion is that a balanced combination of quality wardrobe staples and accessories…especially shoes and bags + inexpensive basics make for a balanced and versatile wardrobe, well equipped for high-low dressing.
Anyway, my fab ATL blogger crew was most definitely in the building…snapping pictures like only a fashion blogger can (okay, maybe real photographers have us beat…but that’s it! lol).

…and finally, this is what I wore. Honestly, I was very unhappy with my look, although it was more than likely due to the fact that last week was truly the week from hell at my job. If this event was put on by anyone else but Trina, I wouldn’t have made it out. After putting out fires all day at work, getting dolled up to go out felt like a chore…and I was having a horrible hair day… Go figure! This week will be better
