Feeling Blue…

Normally, I’m not so matchy matchy, but there is something very beautiful about wearing several shades of blue and green together… perhaps, because it is a color combination that occurs so frequently in nature?

Slip worn as dress (came under this dress! Similar here, $55) | Zara Basic Sandal (try eBay) | Charming Charlie Clutch (similar, $76) | GAP Panama Hat (similar, $10) | Inca Turquoise Necklace c/o Mimi’s, the Look for Less ($56)

My inspiration for this look started with necklace, which I received as a gift a couple weeks ago from my friends at Mimi’s, The Look for Less.  It’s a really special piece, and I’ve been waiting for the right occasion to wear it (you know how I do!), but yesterday I just said forget it! I was determined to wear it, and my mind immediately went for this blue slip dress.  Even in such a bright shade of blue, it is the perfect blank canvas for such a bold statement necklace.  From there, I let my blue color palette trickle down to my feet, and opted for my blue and green Zara basic sandals.  And, to keep the look grounded for day, I added my panama hat (yes, again!).   When all was said and done, I really loved this outfit! It was one of those days when I wished I had somewhere significant to go…instead, I just went to the mall to buy white pumps. Lol! (But, I got a lot of compliments…even the security guard stopped and said something.  So, it wasn’t a wasted outfit after all!)

And, I have some exciting news for you all, too! I’ll be partnering with Mimi’s for a giveaway veeeery soon!  I know I’m not the only one who loves fun baubles, so look out for a follow up post later this week.

p.s. Last night, I had the scariest experience of my life.  Someone tried to break into our house.  The police found tracks, and apparently the person had been all around the perimeter of the house at every window.  They were also sitting on our back deck in a lawn chair watching us for God knows how long.  Needless to say, I am terrified!  And there is this feeling of being violated that’s almost worse than the fear.  Fortunately, we have a top of the line alarm system!  And, Fab is now in the process of investing in a gun, and will be forcing me to take shooting lessons.  This is crazy.

Thanks for stopping by! XOXO.
