Happy day-before-Friday!! I hope everyone is having a good week so far. Last night, I got to hang out with one of my college BFF’s Deanna (a.k.a. MommyGaga). She came to town for a blogging thing, so we met up for drinks at her hotel. All but two of my college friends are still in California, and I miss those crazy girls so much! To say we did everything together would be an understatement. Coincidentally, the two that are no longer in California, just happen to be in Atlanta – isn’t that funny? I promise we didn’t plan that!
Anyway, if you exclude shoes and accessories (because they totally don’t count!), I’ve been doing really good with shopping my closet for fall trends. Like I mentioned yesterday, I am really good at holding on to super basics and statement pieces for fear of never being able to replace them. This skirt is no exception. I’ve had it for about three years or so, and wouldn’t you know it, inspiration from the Far East was everywhere on the Fall 2012 runways. We saw it at Proenza Schouler, Jason Wu, Rag & Bone, Zac Posen, and the list goes on and on.
Every season, after fashion week, I get to browsing all the collections on Style.com and mentally cataloging all the things that I already have in my closet (I’d probably do better if I wrote the list down, because I tend to forget, and I am guilty of re-buying stuff. Lol!) . Of course, when I saw this trend, this skirt was the first thing that came to mind. It actually was a longer pencil skirt when I first got it, but I had it shortened at the tailor.
I am also currently obsessed with size large Mossimo scoop neck tees from Target. I love them nice and loose so I went up two sizes! Because of the girls, I’ve been forcing myself to only wear v-necks for years, but I’m kinda bored with them. Admittedly, the scoop neck is not quite as flattering as the v-neck, buuuuuut, for the moment I’m liking the change of pace…it’s the little things in life. Lol!
OH!!!! And look at my feet. I told you guys I was going back for the black patent version of my ShoeDazzle loafers. I looooove these shoes. I just think they are so effortlessly chic.
