Plum Leather Opera Gloves
Way back in mid-August when it was still 90+ degrees in Atlanta, I saw this picture in Lucky September Issue, and I knew that I had to find a pair of leather opera gloves in a nice rich color like plum or burgundy.
And, so the hunt began. My go-to spot for small leather accessories like gloves is definitely eBay, and usually I’m looking for vintage…because you can find really high quality vintage pieces at really great prices. Unfortunately, I had no luck in the vintage department, but I did stumble upon a brand new pair for about $20, so I snatched them up. The color is perfection, right?
Of course, they’ve just been sitting in my top drawer waiting for the temps to drop. Finally one week into November, it is cold enough to wear them…and I couldn’t be happier!
Okay, so I have to tell you guys, I only have a slight obsession with colorful leather gloves. You see, my Grandma Gene is a major collector. She has every color! And, ever since I can remember, I’ve been trying to steal her collection one pair at a time. (along with her handbag collection!) Seriously, she will tell you, I try to claim a pair every time I visit. I love new gloves, but there is nothing like a good, buttery soft, worn in pair from my Grandma! On my last visit, she gave me an amazing pair of BRIGHT blue gloves that I can’t wait to wear. So, the point is, it is not strange at all that I’ve dedicated an entire post to talking about my new gloves. Lol! I. LOVE. THEM. And, this is totally normal.

I love those gloves!! I can understand why you try to swipe a pair of your grandma's gloves. They make a chic statement. I'm like that with my grandma's shoes We wear the same size. Visiting her shoe collection is like going shopping (^_^)

Love These!!! I have so many 1/4 sleeve swing jackets and I keep telling myself I need a pair of opera gloves so I can wear them through the Fall/Winter. Girrrlll, I def need to go on and buy a few pair! That's right, not just 1 pair, but a few! hahhaha
