CFDA {Fashion Incubator} Designer Showcase at W Atlanta – Buckhead! (+ What I Wore!)
Happy Hump Day!! Sorry for the lack of posting lately. I’m still swamped at work, and I’ve been attending a lot of fun events lately, which always throws off my posting schedule. Hopefully, things will get back to normal after the holidays. For now, I’ve got recaps galore for you guys (and of course, what I wore to all these fab events.)
Last week, I was beyond honored to receive an invitation to attend the CFDA {FASHION INCUBATOR} Designer Showcase. It was a very special night for many reasons, but it’s worth noting that these types of soirees generally take place in New York (naturally), so having the CFDA bring all its fabulousness to Atlanta was a real treat (and we look forward to having them here more often!). Our very own W Atlanta –Buckhead was proud to welcome four of CFDA’s newest rising star designers: Burkman Brothers, Emanuela Duca, Daniel Vosovic and WHIT. This event was the first in the country and was the official launch of the national partnership between W Hotels Worldwide + the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Woot woot!!
It was a full day for Atlanta’s fashion community starting with an exclusive meet-and-mentor breakfast with CFDA representatives, designers and SCAD students. Next, the designers hosted a private luncheon and fashion show hosted by Atlanta’s fashion elite. And, when the sun set it was time to party — the designers joined media (ME!) and local tastemakers (ME again!) for a meet-and-greet cocktail reception, followed by a swanky shindig on the rooftop at Whiskey Blue to celebrate and showcase their latest collections. SO. MUCH. FUN.
At the cocktail party, I bumped into some of my best Atlanta bloggy buds – Poor Little It Girl, one half of Asian Cajuns, My Style Vita, and Savory Exposure. Here’s a shot of Broderick and Cath!
My favorite dress of the night was this beauty by Daniel Vosovic, whose name you may recognize from Project Runway. Lots of pictures of the dress on the model below…I need it!

I have to say the cocktail reception was my favorite part of the evening because we actually got to touch, feel, and see the clothes up close and personal. It just made seeing them on the models later that evening that much better!
So, after the cocktail reception, we headed up to the rooftop and the fashion show began! You guys, I really NEED to stock my wardrobe with a few pieces from both WHIT and Daniel Vosovic…not want, but NEED.

Oh! and before I go, here is a shot of what I wore. About a month a go, I won a $100 gift card to Kohls from the Monday Mingle linkup! Yay!! I bought this Jennifer Lopez dress along with a few other things that I’ll be sharing later. I was kinda freaking out about what I was going to wear to this event, and BOOM! My Kohl’s package arrived the night before and saved the day. This dress was perfect, and I even got a compliment from Daniel Vosovic (eeeeeek!!!), so you know I felt special!
