My girl Dee Dee requested deets on my makeup in this post! Like I’ve said a million times, I’ve wanted to get into doing beauty posts, but I don’t really know how…I don’t know the proper terminology for techniques and products, etc. Eye shadow is just eye shadow to me. So, keep that in mind, and go easy on me. Lol! Here goes nothin…
Face: Currently, I am using Lancome Teint Idole Ultra foundation in Bisque 6 (W). Generally, I prefer a more sheer look, so I almost always mix it with a little bit of moisturizer. I apply my foundation with my fingers starting at the cheeks, and then blend it around my nose, hair line, and jaw line with an ELF foundation brush.
Eyes: I started by lining my top and bottom lash lines with a NYX Lipliner Pencil in Espresso, and I use the same pencil to create a magic triangle in the outer corners of my eyes. Next, I used an ELF Smudge Eye Sponge to smudge out the magic triangle and the liner on my top lash line and created a kind of smoky base. From there, I used an ELF Professional Eye Shadow Brush to apply L’Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow in Bronzed Taupe to the rest of my lid. To blend the magic triangle with my shadow in the outer corner and crease of my eyes, I used a different smaller eye shadow brush. To finish of the look, I applied little bit of the sheer shimmery beige color in the bottom left corner of my Hourglass Vol. 6 Palette on my brow bone as a highlighter. And finally, I lined my top lash line and lower water line with Maybelline Eyestudio Gel Eye Liner in Blackest Black, and added a couple coats of Benefit “They’re Real” Mascara on the top and bottom lashes.
Brows: Currently, I am using NYX Auto Eyebrow Pencil in dark brown. LOVE IT!
Cheeks: Using an ELF Professional Bronzing Brush, I applied MAC Springsheen Sheertone Shimmer Blush to the apples of my cheeks and blended out.
Lips: On the lips, I used my new favorite red (I’ve now got quite the collection) – NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Monte Carlo. This is a cream lipstick that goes on like a gloss and dries matte.
So there you have it! Let me know how I did…are the instructions clear? Was this helpful? Would you like to see more posts like this?
