Okay, okay…after all that fussin’ about my haircut, I have to admit that my wash ‘n go looks 10 times better now that I’ve chopped off those straight ends. My hair is full, and bouncy, and more healthy than it’s ever looked in my adult life. There…I said it! Lol. (Miss Foodie Fab, I see you side eyeing me…you were right!) And, while I’m confessing, I may as well also admit that all of you who told me that I NEEDED layers were absolutely right. My hair needed shaping…and the layers were just what the doctor ordered.
Now, this doesn’t mean I’ve stopped missing my length. I’d like my hair to be at least two or three inches longer, which is shorter than where I started before the cut. But, now that I’ve experienced the shorter length, I actually think it works better with my my fine hair in terms of shape and body. But, who knows…we’ll see what happens as it grows…it’s not called a hair journey for nothin! Lol. One thing I do know is maintaining these layers is a must.
Hair styled with Miss Jessie’s Pillow Soft Curls
So, my friends, I have come A LONG way since I started my hair journey a year and a half ago. I started out with a ponytail ban and flexi-rods to define my fried curls, then I graduated to bantu knot-outs, and this summer I was finally able to work a decent wash ‘n go. But, still, I struggled with cutting my straight ends…I just wasn’t ready. Well, I am so happy and proud of myself for finally taking the plunge. I am also super excited to continue with my journey. I mentioned to my buddy Lexi with the Curls that I really want to learn how to do other curly styles besides wash ‘n gos. I get bored with it! And, in a pinch I just don’t have time to let my hair air dry for five hours. I’d like to be able to create some cute curly looks on-the-go. So, I guess that will be the next phase of the journey. As usual, I want to hear all your styling tips…please share!
Thanks for stopping by!! XOXO.
