When All Else Fails, Wear a Tux!
This weekend, I was honored to receive an invitation to attend the Inaugural Induction of the Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame where national shero and Spanx founder Sara Buckley was being honored. More about the event to come, but I wanted to share what I wore. As I was getting dressed, I realized that I don’t have nearly enough cocktail party apparel. The thing about blog events is they are more about being stylish than anything else, and formality is relative. But, this event was a bonafide cocktail party, and I actually had a tough time pulling together an outfit I deemed appropriate, but not too dressy. Needless to say, I am now on the hunt for cute, affordable cocktail dresses.
In the final hour, I settled on my white tuxedo jacket over simple silk cami, and my new favorite black trumpet skirt from Zara (last seen here). And, I added a touch of flare with a pair of fun Hue tights and my Bridget glitter panel booties.

I actually loved the finished look! Since most ladies were wearing dresses, my look menswear inspired tuxedo jacket kind of made a statement…and that’s always a good thing
