Pattern Mixing with Curves and Confidence {Guest Post}

Curves and Confidence Pattern Mixing 03

Hi Fashionista Next Door readers! My name is Shea and I am the creator of Curves and Confidence which is my little contribution to the blogging world.  I currently reside in Miami aka the Magic City which is known for its diverse culture and beautiful people.  I am so excited to guest blog for Eboni whose blog I have been following forever!

So who besides me decided to implement a few style and shopping resolutions for the New Year, you can see mine here.  While my list does not say anything about shopping less the fact of the matter is I need to remix my clothes more.  I have a bad habit of running out and buying new clothes instead of trying to create new outfits with what I already own.  After going back through my 2012 blog pictures I realized I have some awesome stuff that I haven’t worn in months!

One of my favorite purchases of 2012 was this polka dot midi skirt that didn’t get much wear.  Since I haven’t worn this skirt in a while it only seemed right that I finally give pattern mixing a try.  After many failed combinations I finally decided the only logical choice was a striped shirt.  I loved the final outcome but was still a little unsure about my outfit as I walked into work.  After a few reassuring compliments from my co-workers I can proudly check pattern mixing off my fashion to-do list.  Oh and while these shoes are CUTE they hurt like heck.  I felt like I was walking on stilts all day long but beauty is pain right?

TFND: Shea, honey…now you know I’m all over those shoes! They are, and I love the subtle pop of color they add to your otherwise muted color palette. It’s fun and sophisticated all at the same time! CUTE! YOu also remind me that I need to get a new oxford shirt. Anyway, thanks so much for holding down the fort for me…you rock!

    Love Shea's outfit (as usual)!!! Pattern mixing is a tricky thing for me as well, but I'm getting better at it. I've decided to start out with scarves and work my way into other items.
