Curves Ahead: Dorothy Perkins Frill Contrast Dress

I am SUCH a typical fashion blogger! I see something on a blog that I love, and I stalk the Internets until I find it, or something similar! And, that is exactly what happened with this dress. Lol! A couple months ago, I pinned the look below from SimpyCyn, and the hunt began.

She got her dress from H&M, so I knew it was pretty much pointless to go looking for it there.  By the time H&M stuff hits the blogs, the chances of finding it in store are slim to none.  So, I searched high and low on the web for something similar, and finally found my dress at Dorothy Perkins!  Now, I’d never purchased anything from Dorothy Perkins so I wasn’t sure about the fit, but they have a cool tool that allows you to put in your measurements, and it spits out a size recommendation.  I ended up going with a size 10 and this thang fits like a glove!  I’ll definitely be buying from DP again in the very near future!

Man, I looooove this dress but when I got it, I hung it up and kinda just stared it at because it is VERY body conscious, and quite frankly I don’t have the slimmest midsection in town. Lol!!  But, Saturday I attended the #SadiddySweetLife brunch for the latest issue of Sadiddy Magazine, and I had to make my girl Adrienne proud and unleash my inner sadiddy on ‘em!  So, I sucked it up (pun intended), and rocked. my. dress.  #poochbedamned.

On the flip side, this dress gave me all kinds of curves that aren’t really there! I’m telling you guys, my hips are virtually non-existent in real life, but in this dress I totally have hips and even a little bootie! YES!!!!! (Jazmine even commented on it, and I promptly told her it was an illusion…but I’ll take it! Lol)

I absolutely loved the way the dress looked with my OTK boots and leather fingerless gloves (duh!).  It was one of those outfits that I just didn’t want to take off…that is until I ate those jerk chicken wings at 255 (BOMB!), and could no longer breathe. Lol!!! (kidding…kinda!)

What did you wear this weekend?

Cute dress. I'd gather this can be recreated by pairing a mini skater skirt and a mini fitted body con dress or fitted long tunic as well.
