So, last spring was all about bright neon and soft pastels…and while both of those trends are sticking around for Spring ’13, we also saw a ton of good ol’ black and white in the spring collections. And surprisingly, as much as I like color, this is actually the trend that I’m looking forward to most (with large scale florals coming in at a close 2nd!). It’s high-contrast and striking, but still so sophisticated and chic….and black and white prints really go a long way — stripes, dots, florals, checks! My friends, I think we’re gonna have a lot of fun with black and white this spring! Clearly, I’m ready. Lol!
As per the norm in the months leading up to the season’s changing, I get a little antsy and I start playing around with transitional outfits that allow me to wear the newest trends NOW! I’ve had this tunic for a while, and I wear it quite a bit! I’m actually surprised this is the first time it’s made its way into a blog post. Funny thing is, I have NEVER worn it as a tunic…it’s way too long and rather boxy for a top….not flattering at all! But as a floaty boho shift dress, it’s perfection! It’s sheer, so I wear it over a black full slip, which also serves to add a couple more inches to the length.
Last thing before I go! Y’all check out my new JustFab bag — the “Arrival”!!! I loooooove it. The style of the bag is clearly inspired by the Louis Vuitton “Alma” bag in terms of the shape and style…but don’t worry, there are plenty of differentiating features to set it apart like the the fun buckle detail in the front — so cute! If you love this style of bag, but you’re on a budget (like me!), this bag is a GREAT look for less! And, thanks to my new “Arrival” (pun intended), I can finally give my “Magnate” bag a rest, because y’all know I’ve been wearing that thang out! Lol!! Anyway, I am gonna take some good up close and personal pictures of the bag, but I wore it this weekend, so I had to share!
(Sorry for the poor quality of these pictures…I hate when I
forget run out of time to take pictures before an event…taking pictures at an event is always a bit tricky! This was the best shot I could get before saying forget it! Lol.)
