Style Me Friday Inspiration, Week 10: Daytime Sparkle!
Happy Monday, Lovelies! This week’s Style Me Friday inspiration comes courtesy of the ever stylish Jenna Lyons! Over the last several years we’ve seen Jenna and the uber stylish team at J. Crew take the brand from ”that other-kinda-preppy-place-sorta-like-Banana-Replublic” to “OMG, I want to wear that entire look straight out of the catalog.” Seriously, I wouldn’t consider myself to be a super classic or preppy dresser, but the styling over at J. Crew is kinda amazing! They seem to have mastered the art of mixing and matching classic with edgy, quirky, ultra femme separates and accessories, for looks that are fun and just slightly unexpected. This week’s inspiration look, submitted by my girl Alicia over at Chica Fashion is a perfect demonstration of J. Crew’s signature styling — one part classic with a simple striped tee + one part glam thanks to one kick-a** pair of sequin trousers. I. LOVE. IT.
So, this week’s inspiration is all about daytime sparkle! I know that sequin pants are definitely not the kind of item that everyone just has lying around, but this look isn’t totally about the pants per se...it’s about rethinking the way we wear sequins! So, you may not have sequin pants, but maybe you have a sequin skirt or shorts? or a sequin top? or a sequin dress? The challenge is to take those sequins and make them work for day!
