Transitional Style: 3 Ways to Wear a Tropical Print Skirt Now and Later!

Last week, I talked about breaking the rules and wearing your spring and summer brights NOW! Well, I thought it would be fun to follow up that post with a side by side look at how I wore the same bright printed skirt in the summer and the fall!  I think the fall look could easily translate to spring when the temps are warm enough for bare legs but there’s still a cool breeze in the air and a long sleeved sweater and closed-toe shoes are totally appropriate…especially in the evening.  And, when it gets too hot for knits and long sleeves, trade in the sweater and loafers for a breezy sleeveless blouse and ankle strap sandals!

Seeing the three looks side by side really illustrates how easy it is to transition your wardrobe from season to season…and there are truly no rules! Add a layer (or 3), or remove a layer (or 5) and your clothes are practically season-less!  And, if I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times, the best way to maximize your wardrobe (and your fashion budget) is to just wear your clothes…over and over again! (I love to shop, so this is something that I constantly have to remind myself to do, and exercises like this actually help!)

How do you transition your wardrobe from season to season?

I add more pastels a few to my wardrobe in the spring. I usually stick to dark and what I call hot colors like red and edgy black during the winter.
