Dip-Dyed and Ready for Spring! {How I Wore the Trend!}
Happy Monday!! So, lately we’ve been talking a lot about transitional style. It’s officially March, and I’ve ever started to see blossoms on the trees, so you know what that means…spring is nigh! Yay!! Even though it is still pretty frigid here in Atlanta, if you’ve been shopping lately, you’ll feel me when I say it is just so hard to resist all the pretty pastels, neons, and florals hitting the racks. I want to be wearing them NOW! Lol! Fortunately, my friends at Target and Glam gave me an excuse to break out my spring clothes a little early, because we’re talking all about spring trends! One of the trends we’ll be seeing a lot of this spring is dip-dye a.k.a. tie-dye a.ka. ombré. We saw the trend on the runways at Burberry, House of Holland, and Versace to name a few! And as usual, you can count on Target to come through with a totally wearable, totally affordable take on the trend.
Sweatshirt, $22 | Fedora, $14 | Scarf, $14 | Shorts, $19.99
I picked up a super cute ombre dip dyed sweatshirt (clearly sweatshirts and I are having a moment), and an aqua dip-dyed jean jacket! The sweatshirt is the ultimate transitional piece because it’s cozy and layer friendly, while still channeling spring in a pretty shade of pastel green. When it gets a little warmer I plan to wear it with distressed white jeans, or even white cutoff shorts, and wedges or sandals…but for now I’m keeping it winter-weather-friendly in a pair of pastel pink chinos and silver sling back heels. Totally spring and totally warm at the same time! ( I could have even thrown on a pair of cute socks for another layer if I needed too.) And, to tie the look together, I added my Prabal Gurung for Target clutch, which adds a nice pop of BRIGHT against my otherwise soft color palette.
I didn’t get a chance to wear the jacket yet, but I also think it is going to be SO cute paired with crisp white! Here is one idea for how I might wear it…
Jacket, $30 | Top, $18 | Jeans, $23 | Bag, $19 | Wedges, $30
I really LOVE this jacket because I am such a jean jacket girl. I wear my basic light wash denim jacket all the time, and I think this one will make for a nice alternative. It’s great because the aqua color is still pretty neutral and the dip dye effect is very subtle, so it can be paired with most spring/summer colors and prints.
It’s Time for Springtime.
Are you looking forward to the dip-dye trend this spring?
