Polka Dots Never Go Out of Style, But Here’s How to Wear Them Now!

Good morning, lovelies!! We’ve already talked about the dip-dye trend and spring swimwear…today we’re talking about polka dots!  I guess you could call polka dots a trend, but in my opinion, they are a truly timeless print.  They don’t really go out of style.   The silhouettes that you find them on may come and go, and the size and color of the dots may change, but polka dots are forever.  So, even though they are “in” now, that doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll be “out” later, and that makes them trendy, but also an investment!

I put together three super affordable spring looks from Target to showcase not only how polka dots stand on their own as a key trend for spring, but also how well polka dots play with other trends! (By the way, this spring fashion series is so dangerous…I basically want EVERYTHING I’ve posted about…like seriously, I want all three of these outfits in my closet now…and you all know how I go in at Target! Lol.)

Polka Dots + the Black & White Trend

For the last few springs, we’ve totally been bombarded by color, color, color!! Color blocking, neons, pastels…all the color one woman could want! But, this spring, we’re saying hello to our old friends black and white! Much like polka dots, it’s hard to call this a bonafide “trend,” since black and white truly never goes out of style, but the tried and true color combo is being executed in a totally trendy way this springs — we are talking high contrast, almost mod prints and separates…think non-color blocking! Lol.  Classic white on black polka dots are obviously an easy way to get in on the action!

Polka Dots + the Distressed Denim Trend

This look is so me! It would be so easy to throw on in a time crunch for a relaxed, devil-may-care but still super cute sorta vibe! (and I also have a thing for distressed denim!

Polka Dots + the Mixed Prints Trend

Yep, the fashion world is still mixing prints! and spring florals look great with polka dots…just pick two prints that share one color, and make sure one of the prints is larger in scale than the other.  Boom — you’re a polka dot print mixing master!

I'm so digging the black and white trend this year. It's a great option if you don't want to wear color all the time. The second look is my favorite. That top is too cute and that bag is the right pop of color. Looks like I'm making another trip to Target!
