Style Me Friday, Week 31: Lace Details

Happy Friday!  Are you ready for the weekend? I know I am…except I’m kinda bummed because it’s supposed to rain AGAIN. This has been the wettest summer ever, and I am so over it.  On the bright side, the temps have been cool enough over the last few days to break out some of my pre-fall goodness like my new H&M Sweater from Wednesday’s post, and the lightweight sweatshirt I’m wearing today for Style Me Friday.  I’ve been obsessed with the sweatshirt + lace skirt combination since I saw this look on Walk in Wonderland back in April.  Of course, Sheryl lives in LA (woot woot!), where it’s totally normal to wear a sweater with a mini skirt…or denim cutoffs and Ugg boots all year long! Lol.  But, combinations like this are not so easy to pull off in Atlanta.  So, when I was putting together my collage for this week’s inspiration and I ran across another sweatshirt and lace skirt ensemble, I filed it away thinking I might give it at try later this year…but alas, I woke up yesterday morning and discovered it was only 70 outside. YES!!! I was on it! LOL.  It’s still too warm for my Californication sweatshirt, which I plan to rock with this same lace skirt in fall….but my Old Navy “Believe in Love” sweatshirt was perfect.  It’s super lightweight…almost like a heavy t-shirt in a sweatshirt silhouette.

Fall Outfit Idea: Sweatshirt + Lace Skirt | The Fashionista Next Door

Old Navy Sweatshirt (old) | Forever 21 Lace Skirt (old, similar and on sale for $30) | H&M Sandals | Zara Bucket Bag (check in store, and I love this one) | BaubleBar “Ice Dietrich Bib” (sold out, but love this one too) |  BP Chain Ring ($12, Nordstrom) | Nails:  Julep “Bunny” | Lips: Revlon “Wild Orchid”

I’ve had this lace skirt for almost 4 years now, and I bought it at Forever 21 for under $30.  Don’t you love when that happens? I generally don’t shop for what I’d call “investment pieces” at Forever 21…I think we can all agree that F21 is more of a go-to for trendy pieces that you expect to last a season or two, but I have to admit that I have scored some pieces there that are withstanding the test of time, and this skirt is one of them.
