Happy Hump Day! Before I head to Cabo, I just wanted to stop in and share some pictures from the grand opening of the latest Indique Boutique right here in Atlanta.
If you’re not familiar with Indique, the brand was founded in 2007 by co-founders Ericka Dotson and Krishan Jhalani. Since the brand launched in 2007, with the humble goal of supplying high quality hair to their clients, they’ve opened boutiques throughout the United States, and they recently opened a boutique in Atlanta! Amazing, right? At the opening, Ericka shared with us that the Atlanta store opening really held a special place in her heart because it was like everything was coming full circle for her. You see, she and her partner launched their brand at the famous Bronner Brothers hair show right here in the A…and they really stepped out on faith to make it all happen at a time when there was nothing else like it on the market. The retail hair business was virtually non-existent back then. They’d been in talks about launching the business, and when Ericka’s partner asked if she could pull it together in time for the hair show with only about a month’s notice, she said yes…and they went to work to make it happen with very little money, and very little time, but tons of talent, vision, and business savvy! Talk about an inspiring story, right?
Chatting with Ericka was clearly my favorite part of the event, but there a lot of other cool things going on, too…a fun photo booth, complimentary manicures, eyebrow threading, and makeup stations…a candy bar, bite-sized sweets, and Ice Cream Cellar Wines.
…and of course, there was the hair! The first 50 guests received a free tube of hair…you should have seen the line, y’all. It was CRAY!! I’m not even gonna lie, if I wasn’t there on official blog business, I would have been waiting in that line, too. A tube of Indique hair has a retail value of $200 – $300! I am no hair expert, but my girls Danielle and Lexi have been raving about Indique’s hair since I was introduced to the brand over a year ago…and those ladies know their stuff! They’ve said time and time again…this is quality hair, that comes in a variety of textures, and doesn’t shed or tangle. Trina also recently became an Indique convert, and is rockin some BANGIN Indique extensions.
So what sets the hair apart? Well, I’d recommend heading over to Indique’s website to check out their hair story, but in short I’ll tell you this…Indique actually owns their own factory in India where they are sourcing and manufacturing their own line of products. This is not a third party manufactured, private label brand. Indique owns the process of creating their exclusive hair collections from start to finish, and are involved every step of the way to ensure top quality. Pretty cool, right?
Okay, so back to the event…there were also some special guests in the house, including Celebrity host LeToya Luckett, who is a big Indique fan…she especially loves the fishnet clip-in units. You may remember my review of Indique’s fishnet clip-ins here.
Mariah for Married to Medicine also stopped by looking all kinds of gorgeous!
And, of course I got to hang with my blogger boos…this crazy girl keeps me laughing! Hey Arkeedah, girl!
Oh, and my outfit…so, I realize my skirt looks a little scandalous, but it has a short mini-slip…trust me!! Lol. I just thought it was so peek-a-boo sexy paired with an oversized tee and my Zara sleeveless blazer. Everyone was trying to steal this skirt…unfortunately, it is from Topshop’s Fall 2012 collection, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they came out with something similar this season. If I can find something similar from another brand, I’ll let y’all know ASAP. Lol!
p.s. Come back later…somebody is getting another hair makeover.
Thanks for stopping by! XOXO.
