Hey Beautiful People! If you follow me on Instagram, you probably noticed me having a fab time this weekend at the grand opening of Indique’s new Atlanta Boutique! If you missed my recap, check it out here. The super amazing people at Indique also gave me two “tubes” of hair for a Vacation Hair Makeover! Woohoo! I am so excited. I was already planning on getting another sew-in for my vacation because I loved the ease of my last sew-in experience so much. Talk about low maintenance!! At first, I was planning on reusing the same hair (which I loved), but Trina has been rockin’ Indique BOUNCE Deep Wave extensions for several weeks, and I have major hair envy! See Exhibit A below. #CurlsPoppin.
You see, when I had my last sew in…I loved it, but I have to admit, I missed my curls. You know, since I cut my hair last fall, me and my curls have had a major love thang going on. Lol! Also, while my last sew-in wasn’t bone straight, it wasn’t a perfect match for my spiral-y curls, either. It was definitely more of deep beachy wave…super pretty, and I loved it…but, I also had to do some minimal work to blend my hair…definitely more work than I want to do while I’m in Cabo. Cabo is more of a get-up-and-go type of situation, and I’d like my hair to follow suit. I definitely wanted to leave some hair out because I neeeeeds my part, and I neeeeeeds my ponytail option, so when I was considering getting another sew-in, I was really leaning towards going with a curlier hair texture…and I kinda wanted to copy Trina because I loved her hair so much. But the truth is, the BOUNCE Deep wave hair isn’t a perfect match for my super curly hair either. So, when I talked to the experts at Indique, they recommended the BOUNCE Coil Curl hair instead. As soon as I saw the hair, I said “Oh yeah, that is almost my hair’s exact texture.” I mean seriously, check out this side by side…the curl pattern of the Coil Curl is more uniformed, obviously, but overall it is VERY similar to my hair, and I think blending is going to be super easy!
So, Indique graciously gifted me one tube of 22″ BOUNCE Coil Curl and one tube of 18″ BOUNCE Deep Wave, and I mixed the two textures for a full, layered, curly vacation look. I took these pictures of the hair before it was installed. You can see that they look pretty similar pre-install, but the Deep Wave hair is expected to loosen and fall a bit more, while the Coil Curl should stay pretty tight and coily. I should also mention that this is the hair after I washed and brushed it out while wet, which the Indique stylist recommend doing before installing the hair. I got a little excited and forgot to take pictures of the hair fresh out of the tubes. Oops! Basically, when I removed the hair from the tubes, the curls were more clumped and a bit more shrunken, and you could really see the defined curl pattern. Washing the hair and brushing it out just un-clumped and elongated the curls, so they’ll be ready to wear once the hair is installed.
And, this is the hair after it was installed by Toshia Meadows , who is actually one of my friends from LA, and is also a stylist at Spoiled Opulence salon here in Atlanta! I am always whining about not having a stylist in Atlanta, but Toshia has been here all along, and I already know her work (which is amazing), so it should have been a no-brainer for me. Sometimes, I just don’t think…shame on me! Lol. Anyway, I really love how mixing the two textures created such natural look…very similar to my own hair, which has super tight spirals in the back and looser s-curl patter in the front. So, in the picture below, what you’re seeing in the front and top is all my hair, and you can see that it blends perfectly. I mean, this is basically my hair if it were to grow like 12 inches! LOL!!
So, I’ll check back in with you guys after my vacation to let you know how the hair held up! And, I’ll probably be sharing pictures and thoughts on the hair on Instagram while I’m in Cabo, so feel free to follow along.
Have you tried Indique extensions?
