Riding on the coattails of peplum everything over the last couple seasons, skirts with trumpet or flutter hemlines are really having a moment right now. They started popping up last fall, and are now in full swing…literally! (they make the best swinging motion when you walk. hehe!) I think they are super cute, and a nice alternative to the ever popular circle skirt (also known as the skater skirt.)
Mango Sweater (old, similar) | Express Skirt (similar, and a faux leather option) | JustFab ‘Domenica’ | Phillip Lim for Target bag | Wrist Soiree ‘Estelle’ Necklace (sold out, but LaKeitha restocks often, so feel free to email her if you’re interested) | Brass Plum rings and necklaces | Lips: MAC ‘Flat Out Fabulous’ lined with ‘FashionBoost’ Longwear Lip Pencil
I own a couple of these skirts, but to be honest, they aren’t all that flattering on my boyish figure. Like, I’m already square, and the straight hips and flared hemline of this style of skirt highlights that aspect of my shape in the worst kinda way……..unless I wear it with n oversized or slouchy top that hits at the widest part of my hips or lower. Genius! (you know I hate being left out of a trend!)
I’m also rocking another pair of boots from JustFab’s fall boot collection — the Domenica. So cute, right? I love the studded ankle straps and gold zippers. Those special details add just the right amount of edge, and totally made these ankle boots worth adding to my collection, considering I already own at least 5 pairs of ankle boots. (Don’t judge!)
How was your weekend?
