When you think of the holiday color palette, you probably think of red and green….silver and gold…and of course the little black dress, but there’s really no reason to limit yourself to these traditional colors. My pink sweater on Day 3 was just as festive as any red sweater would have been, and the same goes for cocktail dresses. I’ve had this purple cocktail dress for a couple years now, and I just love it. With its sheer sleeves and embellished neckline, there’s just no reason to exclude it from my holiday wardrobe. Besides, in a sea of red, black, gold, and silver, this bold purple number will really stand out in the crowd. And, to kick the holiday cheer factor up just a bit more, I added sparkly silver heels and a silver clutch (which is really a wallet!).
I think this look would be really great for a NYE party at someone’s home. It’s sparkly and festive, but not head-to-toe sequins, which I’d probably reserve for parties being held outside of the home.
