Happy Monday!! How was everyone’s Thanksgiving? Mine was wonderful and relaxing! A lot of good food, long naps, and fun nights out with my family…and surprisingly, no shopping. Every time I added something to my cart, the price of my plane tickets to Cali for Christmas flashed in my mind and made me nauseous. Lol!
Anyway, today I am kicking off a new series that will take us right into Christmas…12 Days of Holiday Party Outfits! Figuring out what to wear to all those parties can be stressful and expensive without a little planning. My goal is always to shop my closet. Chances are you’ve collected enough sparkle over the years to get you through the entire holiday party season without spending a dime…or at least without breaking the bank. This year, I’ve added a few new accessories to my holiday party wardrobe, but I’m recycling a lot of what I already own. My formula for holiday party dressing is easy…just pull out every sparkly, sequined, or bedazzled piece of clothing you own. This is your starting point. Now, set your dresses aside…those are outfits all on their own, and are probably the best choice for cocktail parties and dressier occasions. Wore them last year? Don’t worry, that’s what accessories and jackets are for! Now for the trickier parties — office parties, house parties, and any other casual but festive occasion. Pick a piece from that pile of sparkle you pulled out earlier, and pair it with something not-so-sparkly….like a cozy sweater tunic!
Mossimo Sweater ($27.99, Target) | Deb Shops Skirt (old, similar) | Xhileration Tights ($5, Target) | ShoeDazzle Pumps (old, similar) | Xhileration Box Clutch (old, similar) | Old Necklace via Burlington Coat Factory
I think this look would be perfect for a daytime office holiday party or potluck (or any other casual holiday occasion!). It has just enough sparkle to be festive without being over the top.
Come back tomorrow for the 2nd day of holiday party outfits! xoxo.
