So, you might have noticed that many of your favorite bloggers have swapped out their stilettos for slip-on sneakers…also called skater shoes. Thanks to the fab folks at Celine, the 80’s classic is back…and they’re really having a moment. Available in every color and print you can imagine from classic checkered Vans to leopard print pony-hair, every designer and brand has their version. So, what do I think of the trend? Well, I think they can be super cute with the right outfit…just as cute as a pair of chucks or running shoes. I don’t wear sneakers often, but I’d say they have a place in my wardrobe.
H&M Leopard Jacket (old, similar) | Target Tee (old, I like this one) | Bisou Bisou Leather Shorts (old, similar in real leather!) | NYLA Sneakers | Brass Plum Leather Cap (similar) | Mango Tote (similar)
I picked up this pair of patent leather slip-on sneaks for my job’s conference back in January. Primarily, I just wanted something comfortable and easy to get in and out of…and these were perfect! Usually, my “conference shoes” don’t see the light of day for the rest of the year, but I was happy to find a pair that I could actually keep in my day to day rotation.
So, what do you think of the slip on sneakers trend? Will you be picking up a pair this spring? or are you sticking with your strappy sandals?
