Wednesday Wisdom: My Mission in Life is Not Merely to Survive…

Maya Angelou passed away today at 86, so I thought why not celebrate the life and talent one of my personal all-time favorite writers with today’s Wednesday Wisdom.   I think this particular quote sums up Angelou’s life perfectly.  If her mission in life was to “thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style,” well then I’d say mission accomplished, Maya….mission accomplished.  And what’s more, you shared your passion, compassion, humor, and style with the world through your words.  And, for that…we thank you.

p.s. Maya Angelou  is obviously known for her novels, short stories and poems, but if you love cookbooks, then you must pick up Hallelujah! The Welcome Table .  It’s a collection of short stories about her life with accompanying recipes, which are just as amazing as the stories.  It’s one of my favorite cookbooks!
